Product Information

Urtica dioica, more commonly known as Stinging Nettle, Nettle, or Nettle Leaf is a plant that has been used for its health benefits for hundreds of years, dating back all the way to Ancient Greece. The Stinging Nettle plant grows two to four feet high and has heart-shaped leaves, with yellow or pink flowers. The plant gets its name from the stinging burn that it gives when someone brushes up against it. Commonly used in traditional herbal practice, as well as in Nettle teas, the roots as well as the leaves, provide health benefits.

Hair Shine: When your hair is dry, use as a styling product by adding a few drops of oil to the palms of your hand. Rub your hands together and run your fingers through your hair to create shine and tame frizz. You only need to use a small amount and the product will last longer.

Leave-in Conditioner: After the shower, while your hair is still wet, add a few drops of oil to the ends of your hair, and scalp to hydrate and moisturize. Its especially nourishing if your hair is dry from using the blow dryer, straight-iron or curling iron on a daily basis. You can also use it as an overnight hair care, rubbing it onto the ends and wrapping your hair in a towel while you sleep. In the morning, wash your hair.

Foot, Hand and Nail: Massage a few drops of oil into your cuticles and hands to soften and moisturize. Use as an overnight care to nourish cracked heels and rough feet by working a good amount into your feet and toes. Cover with socks and wake up to soft feet.

Adding it to your shampoo and other hair products: Nettle oil not only helps in healthy hair growth, but can also help scalp conditions like dandruff. Massage it onto your hair and wrap a towel around your head. Leave the oil on your scalp overnight and then rinse out the next day.
